Born in Minsk, Belarus, Vitaly Friedman studied computer science and mathematics in Germany.While spending his nights studying for software engineering, he discovered a passion for typography, interface design and writing.

After working as a designer and independent developer for 6 years, in 2006 he co-founded Smashing Magazine, one of the most appreciated online magazines among designers and web-developers. Over the years, curiosity led him to study web design, front-end development, accessibility and User Experience, becoming a recognised as an expert in these areas.

Vitaly is the author, co-author and editor of all the Smashing books and curator of all the Smashing conferences.

Currently, he is Creative Lead of Smashing Magazine and Front-End/UX Consultant in Europe and abroad, working with the European Parliament, Haufe-Lexware, Axel-Springer and other leading companies. 

With an exceptional feedback from the audience and being for the 3rd time at GPeC SUMMIT, Vitaly Friedman will hold the keynote speech  Fixing Frustrating Design Patterns in eCommerce on the 26th of September, on the stage of the National Theatre of Bucharest. Have you bought your ticket yet?
